Sarrians is a charming little hamlet situated between Orange and Carpentras in the department of Vaucluse. The town’s fine location in lovely countryside makes it an ideal holiday resort. From Sarrians there are good possibilities for trips and outdoor activities such as walking and hiking tours, cycling, climbing, rafting and many, many other things. Sarrians is not far away from the legendary Mont Ventoux, the impressive canyon, Gorges de la Nesque and the two mountain massifs, Plateau de Vaucluse and Dentelles de Montmirail. Sarrians is a typical Provencal medieval village with narrow streets, old stone houses and small pleasant squares.
There are still remains from the old town walls and at some places the houses are built against them, at other places they are built directly on their foundations. In Sarrians one can also find a church from the year 1000 and an 18th century
château which is considered to be the finest or at least one of the finest in the region.
On the first weekend of September every year Sarrians is the venue for a gathering of folklore groups from the department.
This is a unique opportunity to discover the traditional costumes, headgear, dances and music of the Vaucluse.
