Provence är en region i den soliga, sydöstra hörnan av Frankrike. Det egentliga Provence sträcker sig från parfymbyn Grasse i öst till Rhône-dalen i väst, från de alpina alper i norr till Medelhavet i söder. Även om det geografiskt sett inte är helt korrekt, så räknas den franska Rivieran i dag också till Provence, som då omfattar departementerna: Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, Var, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence och Alpes-Maritimes. Dessutom har vi valt att tage med departementen Drôme och Ardèche under området Provence-Côte d´Azur, då många av våra semesterboenden här ligger nära den naturliga gränsen för Provence-Côte d´Azur.
