Holiday home in Ika
Ika is a small fishing village only 2 minutes drive from Lovran and 5 minutes from Opatija. Both Opatija and Lovran offer many possibilities for fun and enjoyment, good restaurants, bars and beaches with summer activities. The romantic Lungomare, a 12km long seaside promenade, connects all the towns on the Optaija Riviera. If you enjoy walking, it will take you about 20 minutes of a pleasant walk to Opatija, or about 10 minutes to Lovran. If you like hiking, the Ucka mountain rises right above Ika and the hiking trails commence from the village.
From Ika and the nearby towns, it is possible to take daily boat excursions to the islands and to the coast of Istria. About an hour away, in neighbouring Slovenia, is Postojna, one of the most beautiful caves in the world, a place worth visiting
The apartment is on the first level of a two-storey building on the beach. It is next to a small, family run hotel which has an excellent fish restaurant serving lobster, scampi and other fish specialities. On the ground floor of this apartment building is a small bar and a take-away restaurant. There is a supermarket across the road as well as a couple of bars. The local beach is a sheltered pebble bay, safe for children.
Apartment Ika is on the first floor, with a south facing balcony overlooking the sea and the beach below. It consists of a hall which leads into the living area with single sofa bed, table and chairs, open-plan kitchen with oven, hob, refrigerator plus small TV and radio. There is a spacious double bedroom with a satellite TV and extra pull out sofa bed for 2 children. Off the kitchen is the balcony overlooking the beach with table and chairs. There is a spacious bathroom/WC with a washing machine. The apartment has air-conditioning and a safe.
Saturday or Wednesday arrival at Pula or Rijeka. Drive 45 minutes.
